UX/UI concept

As UX/UI Designer, I was responsible for designing the complete interface system, from menus to HUD, designing it around accessibility and ease of play. The interface needed to remain readable and approachable across different ages and skill levels, without losing the energy and personality of the Gigantosaurus universe.

Simple Visual Language

Large visual elements and strong contrast help keep the interface readable at a glance. The result is a consistent system that feels fun and accessible, without adding unnecessary complexity to the experience.

Accessibility First

The experience was designed to welcome players with different levels of racing experience. Alongside the standard racing experience, the game includes features that support younger or less experienced players.

Clear Architecture

The interface follows a simple and immediate flow, guiding the player naturally from menu selection to character choice, race and results. This straightforward structure creates a smooth and accessible experience.

HUD

Information is prioritized according to gameplay relevance: race position and lap progression remain constantly visible, while dynamic elements such as power-ups, boosts and race events appear only when they become actionable.

In-race HUD

Split-screen

The HUD is designed to scale seamlessly from 2 to 4 players, keeping all relevant race information visible and easy to identify for everyone on screen.

Assisted Driving & Player Guidance

An optional Autopilot Mode allows younger players to enjoy the excitement of the race without having to focus too heavily on steering, keeping the experience fun and accessible while still letting them feel in control. Every gameplay action is reinforced through clear on-screen messaging, giving players timely guidance and making it easy to understand what to do next without interrupting the flow of the race.

Font

The Grandstander typeface was chosen for its playful and highly readable character, which fits the prehistoric and child-friendly world of Gigantosaurus. Using it consistently across the entire UI creates a strong visual identity and ensures a cohesive experience across both menus and HUD elements, making all text easy and enjoyable to read.

Used throughout the game to ensure a consistent visual language.
